Mission Statement – Guided by our organizational purpose, we inspire, promote and nurture: Enduring friendships, Personal development, Leadership excellence, Innovative growth.

Delta Zeta Sorority was founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, on October 24, 1902. Our vision is to be a premier women’s organization by creating an enriching environment which is essential for all and empowering our members for life.  Delta Zeta currently has 170 college chapters, one colony, and 178 alumnae chapters across the United States and Canada.

Delta Zeta’s value true and lasting friendship, lifelong learning, and giving graciously.

Delta Zeta is the only premier women’s organization with a focus on speech and hearing. We use our philanthropy to protect hearing, raise awareness of noise-induced hearing loss and to bring the gift of hearing to non-hearing people around the world. Speech and Hearing have been our philanthropy focus since 1954. And now, thanks to our partnership with Starkey Hearing Foundation whose missions help the world to hear, we can use philanthropy to improve lives through spoken communications.

Our goal to raise $5,000,000 for the Starkey Hearing Foundation started in 2015. Heart for Hearing will help realize a dream to open speech clinics for those who have only just begun to hear. To date, we have donated over $3,000,000 nationally.

Delta Zeta’s National Service Project, The Painted Turtle camp (TPT),  is coupled with the Sorority’s national commitment to support the camp through donations.

The Painted Turtle supports children’s medical needs, inspires them to reach beyond their illnesses, and provides care, education, and respite for their families.  There is no billing department. All campers and families attend free of charge.

The Iota Upsilon chapter celebrated our 50th anniversary at CSUF in April 2018.
